Heat up your pan. Drop a few drops of oil - we recommend perilla oil but you can use olive oil as well - then place the Tteokbokki Tteok of your choice on the pan. A few minutes later, you will have a delicious wholesome tteok!

Or make delicious tteokbokki 떡볶이 (spicy, simmered rice cake). Boil 1 to 1¼ cups of water in a pot, add your tteok and our Special Tteokbokki Sauce Powder. After boiling 5-6 minutes and the tteok swells up, take off the heat and enjoy! (Can add fish cakes and chopped green onions).

Tteok (떡, Korean rice cakes) is made of various grains and rice is usually the most commonly used ingredient. Garaetteok (가래떡) is one of tteok that is in a long, thin shape.

Kim'C Market's tteok is uniquely different from mass market tteok. The rice we use for whitish rice dough is from single-origin, high quality Korean rice that we freshly mill right before production. That means it’s super fresh! We mix the dough with with a pinch of salt to produce the delicious natural rice cakes.

After rice dough and mixed ingredients are steamed, dried, and cut, we vacuum-seal with a small pack of desiccant. We recommend you consume the rice cake upon its arrival, or keep it in your freezer.

Thawed and Refrozen?

I just received the package couple days ago and saw that the ricecakes were cracked. They hadn’t thawed thanks to the icepack and I immediately placed them in the freezer. I was hoping to make tteokbokki so when I took it out of my freezer today, there wasn’t a single piece that hadn’t cracked. It’s either that it was frozen for a long period of time and I happened to get an old batch or the ricecake was poorly made. I’m satisfied with other items in the order but the ricecakes were disappointing. Won’t be ordering these again.

Hi Jen, We're so sorry to hear about this disappointing situation. Our rice cakes are made in small batches with our freshly-milled rice without any hardeners or additives which keeps them fresh and chewy. We discussed thoroughly with our producer what may have caused this issue, and it may be due to the silica gel that's added right before the rice cakes are vacuum sealed. This may be causing the rice cakes to lose some moisture, therefore the cracks. Moving forward, we will repackage these a bit differently which will continue to stay fresh and prevent the rice cakes from cracking. We hope that you would consider giving these delicious rice cakes another chance. We thank you for your very important feedback and look forward to seeing you again at Kim'C Market.

I had never tried tteok before having the Kim'C premium tteok, and I really fell in love with them! They're so delicious and they have such a fun texture.

Nice texture

Impressive quality

김씨마켓의 정미쌀만 먹고 있는데, 이 떡도 역시 기대를 저버리지 않네요. 갓 정미한 한국산 "참드림" 쌀을 바로 으깨어 매우 신선하게 떡을 만드니 일단 밀가루로 만드는 다른 떡볶이용 떡보다 맛과 식감이 훨씬 좋네요. 쫄깃쫄깃해요. 잘 퍼지지도 않아서 매우 만족스럽습니다.
